Sustainability

Sustainability at Wild One Jewellery

Thoughtful making has always been at the heart of Wild One Jewellery.

From the materials I choose to the way each order is packaged, I try to make decisions that feel kinder to the planet, more intentional and aligned with the values behind the brand.

I’m not claiming perfection (because honestly, very few businesses can), but I do believe small, meaningful choices matter.

And as a small handmade business, those choices are something I care deeply about.

Recycled Sterling Silver

Much of my jewellery is created using recycled sterling silver.

So what does that actually mean?

Recycled sterling silver is genuine sterling silver that has been recovered, refined and reused rather than newly mined.

The quality, durability, and beauty are exactly the same as newly sourced sterling silver, the difference is in the environmental impact.

Silver mining can be resource intensive, so choosing recycled silver helps reduce the demand for newly extracted materials while still creating beautiful, lasting jewellery.

In short?

Same silver.
Less environmental impact.
Still absolutely made to be worn and loved for years.

Recycled 999 Fine Silver Metal Clay

I also work with 999 fine silver metal clay in some of my designs.

This is a wonderful material made from tiny recycled silver particles combined with an organic binder and water.

Once fired, the binder burns away, leaving behind pure fine silver.

It allows for beautifully organic textures and handcrafted detail, which makes it perfect for the kind of jewellery I love creating.

And yes, it’s also a recycled silver material.

Small Batch, Handmade Production

Wild One Jewellery isn’t mass produced.

Every piece is designed and handcrafted by me in my Lincolnshire studio in small batches.

That means:

• no factory production

• no bulk manufacturing

• no overproduction

• more intentional making

• less unnecessary waste

Small batch production allows me to create thoughtfully rather than at scale and that feels far more aligned with the kind of business I want to build.

Thoughtful Packaging

I want receiving your jewellery to feel special but not at the expense of unnecessary waste.

That’s why I use recycled or recyclable packaging wherever possible.

Beautiful presentation still matters (because opening jewellery should absolutely feel exciting), but thoughtful packaging choices matter too.

Our Wild One Woods

One of the sustainability initiatives I’m especially proud of is Wild One Woods.

For every order placed directly through the Wild One Jewellery website, I plant a tree through Ecologi.

It’s a simple idea, but one I love.

Because small actions, repeated consistently, really do add up.

By shopping with Wild One Jewellery, you’re helping support reforestation projects alongside independent handmade making.

Progress, Not Perfection

Sustainability isn’t about claiming to do everything perfectly.

It’s about making better choices where possible, continuing to learn and improving over time.

As Wild One Jewellery grows, I’ll keep looking for ways to make the business more thoughtful, more responsible and more aligned with the values that inspired it in the first place.

Thank You

Choosing handmade jewellery from a small independent maker already supports a slower, more thoughtful way of shopping.

So thank you.

For shopping small.
For choosing handmade.
For supporting conscious creativity.
And for helping Wild One Jewellery grow in a way that feels intentional.

It genuinely means a lot.
