Reasons why we LOVE to live in Lincoln
Over the next few weeks we shall be sharing some fun and exciting things we have been up to in the Lincoln area. As you all know we absolutely love supporting local and indie businesses so we think it's about time we give you guys more info and ideas so you can make the most of our beautiful city this summer.
A couple of months ago it was a dear friends birthday and we decided we wanted to do something super special (and a little bit extra for her). We were thinking of random, obscure and fun things to do in Lincoln (on a Monday, whilst the kids are at school - yes we are truly party animals!) And the list of ideas began to grow ...
Burton Waters Experience
We found an amazing boat hire company at Burton Waters, 5 minute drive out of Lincoln. We contacted some of our favourite local food businesses, set up a picnic and headed out on the water for the day.
We hired "The Dambuster" river cruiser - self drive day hire. After a quick debrief, a whizz around the marina & a plan of where we were heading, it was time to head out into the Brayford.
Luckily the sun was shining, the prosecco was flowing and we even managed to moor up at Saxilby without too much of a fuss (a couple came to our rescue as one of us nearly fell overboard).
We enjoyed some savoury veggie pastries from Nonna Juana Pasta and some sweet treats from Pasticinni Italian Lincoln - you must check them out, both were absolutely delicious.
Before we knew it, it was time to head back for school run - mooring up we spotted the other boats available for hire and decided a return visit is a definite must!
