On Thursday 27th April we hosted our second Handstamped Cuff Workshop at the Oaks.
We had an absolutely brilliant evening, it was so nice putting names to faces and meeting making friends. The evening started with a bang with everyone enjoying a glass of Prosecco whilst getting to know each other.
Every table set with two work stations, some practise copper blanks and a hallmarked pieces of Eco Silver for everyone. We began by learning about my metalsmith tools, we learnt how to make different textures using various hammers and everyone had a practice.
I demonstrated how to set up a station ready for letter stamping, how to accurately measure out each character and how to achieve a straight stamp.
The team at the Oaks cooked up some yummy handstretched pizzas, which we enjoyed whilst chatting about our final design ideas. Once everyone was comfortable with the technique it was time to start on the silver!
It was time to file & shape the cuffs using different forming tools & mandrels - they were then ready for their final polish.
Everyone made beautiful cuff bracelets, the designs were so nice - we had lots of linear texture and lovely sentimental words stamped onto the bangles.
